We love how creative our network of Places of Welcome are. They are always finding innovative ways to ensure everyone has safe places to connect, belong and contribute!

One of our super friends Handsacre Methodist Church has written this fab poem about their experiences of setting up a Places of Welcome UK:

Creating a Place Of Welcome - A Poem

with pens, pencils and crayon

Cutting and sticking

Scissors, glue and tape

Paper and card

Fabric, material

Lace, ribbon and trimmings

All gifted stuff.

With loo rolls

Egg cartons

Yoghurt pots and jars.

Old reels and wool

Needles, hooks and pins.

We have created stuff.

Cups of tea, coffee and squash

Cakes and biscuits aplenty

Hot chocolate

Fruity teas

So none will go thirsty.

Time to just chat

Set the world to rights.

Have a joke and a laugh,

Or just sit and be quiet.

Jigsaws, games

And toys for the kids

A place made for all

Whoever they may be.

A real Place Of Welcome

Awaits one and all.

For nought up to ninety

You're never too old.

So come down and see us

Handsacre Methodist Church

Is the place.

We're here every Friday

In the summer Monday and Wednesday too

From one till four thirty

We'd love to see you.
