Helping churches build their vision

TCT has been delighted to be supporting the Lichfield Diocese ‘Shaping For Mission’ programme through a recent webinar

The webinar was led by TCT’s Chief Officer Adam Edwards, and James Henderson (Senior Development Worker).

James remarked:

It was wonderful to meet with clergy and lay leaders, to learn about their hearts for living out social action and justice and explore new ways of churches working together in deaneries and working with other partners. It’s clear that their is a real heart for community mission, as defined in the Diocesan Vision prayer.”

Transforming Communities Together (TCT) seeks to empower churches and other faith groups, individuals and communities to respond effectively to the issues of poverty and social justice that they encounter. Our vision is to work with partners to seek the common good, working for justice as people of hope, so that communities may flourish and those who are vulnerable, isolated and disadvantaged might enjoy life in its fullness. In this session we will looked at what Christian social action is, how to set a vision for this, and how you work towards making this a reality. It was also an opportunity to find out more about our work and a chance to talk about the barriers in your community, and how TCT can work with you.

Lichfield Diocesan Vision prayer

"As we follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad, we pray that the two million people in our diocese encounter a church that is confident in the gospel, knows and loves its communities, and is excited to find God already at work in the world. We pray for a church that reflects the richness and variety of those communities. We pray for a church that partners with others in seeking the common good, working for justice as a people of hope."
