Two local charities are joining forces to set up a buddying scheme, making it easier for people to get the best out of living in Lichfield.

Making friends and feeling part of the community can make a big difference to how people feel about themselves, contributing to health and wellbeing. However, some people lack confidence, are shy about meeting people or are unaware of what is on offer locally.

Support Staffordshire and Places of Welcome are developing a buddying scheme in Lichfield District. Funded by Lichfield District Council, they will recruit volunteer buddies who will help people to attend social and recreational opportunities available locally including Places of Welcome. If you know somebody who may be interested in becoming a volunteer buddy – or who may benefit from support from a buddy – please let us know.
