Cultural Recovery Fund for Heritage

A second round of applications to the Cultural Recovery Fund for Heritage are open from 7 January until 26 January 2021.

Cultural Recovery Fund

Listed places of worship are able to apply for funding towards the costs necessary to transition towards full reopening of your listed building in summer 2021 (April – June) to the general public and engage the wider community with your heritage. You cannot apply to this fund to undertake work that would be seen to direct promote faith or to perform capital works but there are a wide range of operating costs that are eligible.

The application process is detailed but not exhaustive but the timescale is tight so interested churches are encouraged to make a quick decision about applying and to discuss with the Church Buildings Team – who are here to help – at the earliest opportunity. A member of the team is attending a briefing webinar on Thursday 14 January and would be happy to pose any questions received by Monday 11 January.

Guidance on how the fund may be beneficial to churches can be found here
