Listening is one of TCT's key values, so as we work with partners new areas of work are emerging.

Our Senior Development Worker partners with groups to develop these ideas and incubate them until we can look for a dedicated member of staff or volunteer to specialise in this area.

Current Development work includes:

  • Hate Crime is vastly under reported, but we want people to be helped by training Churches and other community buildings to be able to recognise and report this distressing crime. Hate Crime leaves people feeling unsafe and vulnerable in their own community. To allow everyone to thrive and flourish, we can't ignore this problem and we are encouraging everyone in our communities, especially those of faith, to tackle this problem.
  • People of a BAME background have been disproportionately affected by Covid-19 and many of our staff have been involved in working with the NHS and Dudley Council to respond to this.
  • Homelessness is on the rise and it’s only by coming together and forming strong networks that we can start to tackle it. We are honoured to chair Wolverhampton Homelessness Forum.
  • Food poverty is a day-to-day reality for more and more people in the UK, with one in four parents skipping meals in order to make ends meet. And the problems are often worse during the school holidays.
  • Involvement in local and national Campaigns to create lasting change and use our prohetic voice is a new and growing area of TCT's work.
